Rotate PDF

A PDF that opens sideways or upside down usually carries the wrong rotation value on one or more of its pages -- a sheet fed in the wrong way through a scanner, or a page exported at the wrong angle. This tool lets you turn any page by 90, 180, or 270 degrees and write that correction straight into the file. Each page is rendered as a thumbnail, so you can see exactly which way it faces before and after you turn it.

You can spin every page in the same direction with a single control, or reach for the rotate-left and rotate-right buttons beneath an individual page when only a few are wrong. Password-protected files are supported too: enter the password once and the unlocked pages become editable.

Rotation problems show up most often after scanning. A feeder that pulls in a sheet the wrong way, a phone photo saved as a PDF, or a fax that arrives upside down all leave you with a file that reads fine on paper but not on screen. Rather than tilting your head or re-scanning, you fix the orientation once and share a document that opens the right way for everyone.

It is equally useful for a landscape spreadsheet dropped into a portrait report, or a single misaligned cover page inside an otherwise-correct booklet. Orientation is usually the first fix in a longer cleanup: once every page faces the right way, the PDF organizer can drop or reorder what remains, and a contract that reads correctly is ready for the Sign PDF tool.

Suppose a ten-page contract was scanned correctly except for pages 3 and 7, which came out on their sides. Load the PDF, click rotate-right under page 3 and rotate-left under page 7 to stand them upright, and leave the other eight untouched. The thumbnails update immediately, confirming all ten now match. Saving writes a new PDF with those two pages permanently corrected.

Rotation is applied in 90-degree steps, so 90, 180, and 270 degrees cover every orientation; repeated clicks cycle back to the start. The rotate-all control acts on every page together, while the per-page buttons override a single page -- handy when most of a document shares one problem but one page differs.

Turning a page changes only its orientation value, not its content: text stays selectable and images are never re-compressed, so the saved quality matches the original exactly. Because the new angle is baked into the downloaded file with pdf-lib rather than remembered by a viewer, the pages appear upright wherever the PDF is later opened. The Reset button clears any rotation queued before saving.
